How to Jump Rope Skip
Trainer: Ashley Steele
Hold the jump rope with both hands roughly the same distance away from the centerline of your body. Keep your neck and chest up. Your head should be facing straight forward.
Keeping a slight bend in your knees, use your wrists to turn the rope. There should be minimal movement of your elbows and shoulders.
Hop vertically 1-2 inches off the ground so the jump rope can clear under your feet. Repeat for the specified amount of time or repetitions.
Jump rope skips are a great way to burn calories and elevate your heart rate. If this exercise is too challenging or causes joint-discomfort you can elevate your heart rate performing lower impact movements such as bike sprints or running in place.
